elffriede is drawer author selfcreated creature/creator/curator/curser.
elffriede draws with pen and ink into fine drawingbooks of the size of 26 x 18 cm.
the drawing, which comes automatically is the basis of expression and of further experiments to colaborate with other selfcreators of music, textile etc. elffriede transforms her drawings within different type of media/material/size like textile-printing, illustration/stories, draw on tickets, houses (inside/outside), overhead/live-drawing, animationfilm. elffriedes draws figurations which she regards to be abstracts of thoughts and therefore calls them “thINKtures” (think/thing/ink/tinkture). she refuses colour in her drawing since the line/stroke itself states the tension is in motion and forms a shape which has to stay empty. emptyness maybe is the point of elffriedes work. elffriede regards her drawing as a language to overcome borders of all kind.
elffriede – from her fanzine-roots – works with found material text/pictures to do montage.
drawing and material montage are sometimes combined and further accompanied by typewriting, which alltogether built the media for inventing honorably true spaces like “elffriede offices” and always invent storys, of which elffriede and other people become part of. elffriede likes most blackwoodforest cake. maybe she likes more the word than the taste.
